Background 

When a successful bank began to experience evidence of slow service delivery, prompt action was required to retain customer confidence and reduce churn. Within a short space of time, having a large customer base almost started to work against the bank as scenes of lengthening queues were replicated across its extensive geographically dispersed branch network. To top it off, only a fraction of the rising customer complaints made their way to its contact centre hotlines as most were publicly expressed on its social media pages. For the bank, these were the makings of a real PR crisis which needed immediate remedy to preserve its reputation.  

Investigations into the matter traced the source of these undesirable consequences to 2 main causes: high system latency and unreliable internet connectivity. As with all financial institutions, the sheer volume, value, and complexity of transactions handled by the bank required stable, high-speed internet to process and low latency to enable expeditious response to business opportunities. Moreover, the speed with which networks relay communications and execute transactions is directly linked to shorter waiting time for customers and increased productivity for employees. Diagnosing the problem was only half the battle, the other half lay in finding the right ICT solutions partner to solve the highlighted challenges. It was at this point that the bank engaged Dandemutande.  

Dandemutande’ solution 

  • 150mbs link Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) directly terminating into the bank’s Data centres 
  • VSAT and Fibre connectivity in branches and satellite office 
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN) 

Due to the urgency of the situation, Dandemutande wasted no time in establishing a secure fibre connection entirely dedicated to the bank. Built for guaranteed speed and uptime, DIA immediately turbo charged the bank’s data transmission and delivered high speed symmetric uploads and downloads. This solution further strengthened the bank’s overall cyber security by insulating its network against breaches – a critical advantage given the sensitive nature of financial data. For the bank’s most remote branches and satellite offices, VSAT was deployed as either a primary or redundancy internet solution. And lastly, VPN implementation merged secure connections within the bank’s network.
